Pictures of last night’s Toronto show are here. Reviews/Videos below…

Coldplay, at Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Wednesday

Long live the kings. And you too, Coldplay. The world’s biggest band hit Toronto’s Air Canada Centre for the first of two sold-out concerts on Wednesday, leaving the impression that while its members are a nice young foursome of Englishmen capable of writing gorgeous anthems and performing them wonderfully, they just aren’t the conquering types.

Appearing as if they hadn’t cleaned the dust from Sunday’s Pemberton Festival in B.C. off their raggedy military garb, the CD-selling giants starting grandly, entering with the swelling instrumental Life in Technicolor that ushered them to an audience that greeted its heroes with something like a soccer-stadium chant.

NME disses Coldplay’s band name

God!

The NME get on my right nerves sometimes…

Did you see the article in this week’s edition [26th July] about deciding decent band names? Things like Muse used to be called Gothic Plague, Kasabian were called Saracuse and REM were called Cans of Piss [LOL!]. Anyway, this is what they said about Coldplay:

“Coldplay - a meaningless juxtapostion of words…”

What gives? First they’re supporting the band, next minute they’re dissing them? Make your bloody mind up! Suffice to say, I’ve fired off an email to set the record straight…

Geez! I can’t stand laziness. It wouldn’t have taken them 2 mins to find this out on the web…

Brixton Emails Are Coming! And the touts are out!

Peeps are starting to receive their congratulatory emails for the June 16th Brixton Academy gig.

I as yet, have not received one…. :(

And, it looks like the touts have started to sell them on eBay.

LISTEN TO ME! THE TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERRABLE! IF YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO BUY THEM OFF EBAY THEN YOU’RE A FECKING IDIOT AND YOU DESERVE TO LOSE YOUR MONEY!

Ticketmaster is FUCKED UP!

Just got wind that all the good seating at the O2 gigs [floor block A/B/C] have been on sale on Ticketmaster.co.uk and no notification given.

So, after I’ve killed myself to get really crappy seats on the inital run, they’ve done this!

I think that’s fucked up. I’m on the mailing list for ticketmaster and received no notification. Also apparently, you could go to the O2 box office and get the good seats on day one. WHY WEREN’T WE TOLD!

So, all the touts have done this and now they have the good tickets and are selling them for THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS EACH!!!! Oh, I beg my pardon. If I want these tix I’ll have to cough up SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS!

Just goes to show that the promoters don’t care about the REAL TRUE FANS and have made no efforts to prevent scalping, neither helped us by organising pre-sales etc.

I am beyond mad about this…

Thanks for nowt…

AAAAAAAAARGH!

I forgot to register for the BBC gig that’s happening this month!! If anyone loves me wants to see me happy - if you win, please take me. I’ll make it worth your while….

;)

BOOOOOO!

The vids from Amazon.com/play.com that I posted on Youtube have been removed due to ‘copyright violations’. For God’s sake! Anyone can rip any video from any website on the internet, whether it’s on Amazon or Youtube. What feckin’ difference does it make who’s hosting it. People want to see it!!

EMI really need to lighten up.

‘This Fielding’ My arse!

I had my work’s Xmas party last night, all the way in flipping Epping, which clashed with several things, namely The Arctic Monkey’s first Ally Pally gig [gutted] and also The Thirst were performing an acoustic set at the This Feeling [or it was renamed 'This Fielding' as The Boosh's Noel Fielding was meant to be DJing along with someone from Kasabian]. I found out that The Thirst were going to be on stage about about 10.15, so I went to the work do, ate and ran, hoping to go and catch their set.

Stupid Amy Winehouse slates Chris Martin

She is also gratifyingly (from a media-land, star-spotting point of view) keen on artificial stimulants and abuse. Since she first appeared in 2003, lurid stories have spread about her consumption of alcohol and marijuana, sometimes on-stage. As a guest on Charlotte Church’s TV chat show, Winehouse was so drunk she forgot the words to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, leaving Church to sing unaided while (in the words of one commentator) “being observed by a rather dizzy-looking horse in lipstick”. She claimed to breakfast on Jack Daniel’s and Coke. Invited to comment on the competition at the 2004 Brit awards, she snapped: “Dido’s gonna win, even though she’s rubbish.” With similar generosity, she called Chris Martin of Coldplay “a wanker” and Britney Spears “a joke”. Several people must have itched to call her a little madam; but then they probably took one look at the truculent set of her jaw and thought better of it.

Whoops! Coldplay loses a fan…

Here’s a story posted by dajrekshn

Hi
My name is Paola Avaria, and I live in Valparaíso, Chile. Today Mr. Chris Martin visited the museum where I worked.

I was a big fan of Coldplay, until today. I was so trill that Mr. Martin was going to visit the place I work, I wanted to go to Santiago to attend the show this week, but I don´t have a car, so I can`t go. It was too far for me to attend the recital of the band. So when I knew he was going to visit the museum, I was so happy…but Mr. Martin was very rude to me.

I said hi, and I introduce myself as a big fan of his band, he said hi and kept walking. The person in charge, told me to ask him if he wanted to have a guide or if he prefered to go by himself, then he turned into a coworker, and apparentely he wanted to be guided by her, so this coworker told him that I was the one who guided the visitors in English at the museum, and he loked at me saying no, I rather go on my own…He maked me feel like trash, just exactly the way the man I liked…reyected, when I was so respectfull…to be honest…he made me cry…and now…I don`t Know how I`m going to feel when I hear their songs…Mr Martin and the music of the band made me feel so peaceful, it was so refreshing to hear them, it made me feel so light, so happily quiet, and what it was most important, full of hope…but today…today I felt like a piece of trash…reyected…and I feel so sad…

I am sorry… I know that all the people here write good and nice things about Colplay…but I had to express my feelings tonight…today their play was cold for me.

Somehow, I feel I don`t deserved this unkindness from him, because after all, I am also a human being, and I feel, and maybe I am more sensitive than others, and that`s the thing; I thougth Mr. Martin was like that, too…but I was wrong.

Maybe, in the future, the play will turn cold for him, too…maybe somebody very closed to him, or somebody he admires very much… will make him feel reyected, just the way he made me feel today
