Coldplay’s Oracle: How To Get Chris Martin’s V-Shirt

More questions answered by The Oracle…

November 17, 2008 - submitted by Ainsley, Norway

Q. Where could i get the same shirt that Chris Martin wears? The white shirt with the red V on the side? It would be awesome if you answered <3

The Oracle replies:
It’s not shop bought that way so all you have to do is find a similar off white tee, then customize it with spray paint that’s suitable for material (and permanent so that you can wash the garment). To the person who asked the same question but mistook the V for a heart or a tick, consider this the answer to your Q too!

Coldplay’s Oracle: Chris Martin’s drink concoction

Q. Hello Oracle!
Is Viva la Hova a real collaboration between Jay-Z and Coldplay? Or is it just a remix album made by a random guy??

The Oracle replies:

It’s the brainchild of mash up mixtape producers Mick Boogie and Terry Urban who enlisted other producers to come in and work a track each. Chris hasnt actually heard it as you can see here but the results have been warmly received by the band & Jay Zs camp, so a thumbs-up all round.

Oracle Speaks On The Letters Thrown To Coldplay On Stage

More questions answered by The Oracle…

November 12, 2008 - submitted by Nadine, Sweden
Q. Alright Oracle, Ive asked this before, and im asking it again. Does Coldplay get hold of items thrown onstage by fans (teddybears etc) that arent directly caught by one of the band members? Or if theyre taken away by those men in black that come and take all the excess clothes and propps that are on stage, do they get them then? Lots of love!
The Oracle replies:
Yes they do. The letters make their way back to the UK and then are passed on to the letter reader. The presents are usually donated to a children’s hospital or charity but there’s not many of those. [Read more]

Coldplay’s Oracle Talks On Unofficial Ticket Outlets

More questions answered by The Oracle…

November 11, 2008 - submitted by Edward, Malta
Q. I bought tickets from a site www.coldplaylivetickets.com and it seems like a complete scam. They do not want to give us any proof and they are still the only ones who have places available for every concert in London between the 13th December and the 15th. This is very strange to me. Do you think you can look into this please? regards
The Oracle replies:
Having looked at that link you gave me I find within their terms & conditions that it does clearly state that they are totally independent. Any unofficial outlet or ticket agency can be a risk for the buyer but please bear in mind that even the officially endorsed companies sometimes only post tickets out 2 weeks before a show. I advise you to check your credit card bill (or record of payment), as it will show there, possibly with a reference code. If you have paid for the tickets you will hopefully receive them. Most companies do email a confirmation of purchase to you do check that again. [Read more]

Coldplay’s Oracle: Coldplay signed to Parlophone because of Radiohead and The Beatles

Q. Dear O, I’m really sad. Few years ago my mum gave her wedding dress to a friend of hers from the village to wear for her wedding. Not borrow, but gave. She ended up not wearing because it was “too pretty”. I’m still upset that she gave her wedding dress to someone else while she has 3 daughters! Is it wrong to feel upset? I just thought a tradition could be made from it, you know.

Coldplay’s Oracle: Who’s the most important person in the world?

More noodle baking questions answered by Coldplay’s Oracle…

November 3, 2008 - submitted by Bruna, Brazil

Q. Dear oracle, who is the most important person in the world?

The Oracle replies:

That’d be you wouldn’t it? My point is that I am the most important person in my world and I don’t think it’s selfish to be that way, I find it can be very productive and beneficial to everyone else when I consider myself first. I’m sure parents would say their children but as a childless adult - it’s me.

Coldplay’s Oracle: If Coldplay hosted a party…

Q. Hello. we were recently priviledged enough to stumble across Coldplay’s “Hardest Part” video and to let Barbara the 84 year old dancer into our lives. Is there anywhere that we might obtain some further information about the legend herself (and perhaps a tad about Spencer her tanned, g-string clad companion)? thanks oracle, you’re a champ. Whisp and Thong xxx
The Oracle replies:
That video was made 16 years after Barbara (R.I.P) and Spencer appeared on the Attitudes show. There’s not much information about the pair, which is a shame, but you can see a variation of the routine here. [Read more]

The Oracle Speaks On Prospekt’s Blanked Out Track Titles

October 16, 2008 - submitted by Kelly, United States of America
Q. I am a male named Kelly. Some people consider this a girl’s name. In Ireland and the UK do people consider Kelly a girl’s name. Also what were the blacked out songs on prospekt’s letter saying that the “tracks would be chosen from the following.” and should I put a question mark inside the quote because I do wish to end the sentence there(now what punctuation do I use?).

The Oracle replies:
Coldplay’s head of security is a guy called Kelly. The lead singer of The Stereophonics is called Kelly. Then there’s Kelly McGillis, Kelly Osbourne and Kelly Brook so you see it is a name used for a boy or a girl. The ? should be outside the quotation marks because the sentence you’re quoting isn’t a question itself. The answer to the question though is one that I will meet you half way with. Two of the blacked out titles are Viva la Vida and Postcards From Far Away. The other two can tease you some more.
