30 Things You Never Knew About Muse

When they first headlined the second stage at V, Muse were introduced onstage by Coldplay’s Chris Martin in a hoodie. Since then Matt and Chris have regularly sent each other tongue-in-cheek ‘abusive’ text messages. ‘30 Things You Never Knew About Muse’ was written by Mark Beaumont - looks out for his book ‘Out Of This World: The Story Of Muse’, which will be published in October.

Chris Martin’s Viva La cleaner

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN insists he will ever smash up a hotel room – because he used to clean them.

The rocker, 31, said: “When you’re a cleaner and you walk into a trashed room, it’s truly annoying.

“All you want to do is go on your tea break – and you get faced with that.”

Chris has seen the latest Coldplay album Viva La Vida go to No 1 in more than 30 countries.

But he begged trash-happy celebs: “Spare a thought for the poor schmuck cleaning the room.”

Coldplay: Live from Brixton Academy - 2001

Brixton Academy was the very first place I ever saw Coldplay. Here is a picture from that April 30, 2001 show.

At the end of the show, Chris lifted up his arm in the air, guitar in hand and then THREW HIS ACOUSTIC GUITAR INTO THE CROWD.

Coldplay could get into trouble for ‘reverse graffiti’

We’ve talked about green graffiti. Now get ready for “reverse graffiti” or ‘clean tagging’. Popularized by British artist Paul Curtis, the idea is to stencil what you want to say by pressure-washing onto dirty cement. Sounds like a great idea. I mean, how can you get in trouble for actually cleaning the sidewalks?

Some rogue advertising using this reverse graffiti could get Coldplay and a Canadian cell phone company in a bit of trouble from Montreal authorities. The name of Coldplay’s latest album, Viva la Vida, has been washed into sidewalks around the city and a Canadian cell phone company has used reverse graffiti to promote cell phone recylcing. Novel feat. Coldplay - Lost (Remix)

I knew I wasn’t the only one who heard the original version of Coldplay’s Lost from Viva La Vida and thought that the opening melody sounded a bit like a Hip Hop sample. MC Novel was smart enough to amp up the track a bit and throw his sixteen bars over the original making the song a bit more emotional and personal. We don’t know so much about Novel yet but lyricaly he sounds promising. Check out the link below to check out the song.

SUMMER SONIC: Coldplay’s Only Festival Date in 2008 - The Definitive Report

Well, had you asked me what I thought of them a month or two ago, just before Coldplay released ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ (or whatever it was called), I would have told you quite firmly, ‘Interesting to read about because Chris Martin seems constantly on the edge of a nervous breakdown, but too fucking boring to ever actually put on the record.’ [Read more]
