Complete Coldplay Timeline on MyColdplay.com

I have set up a separate section of the site devoted to the Coldplay Timeline, which features their complete chronology since the beginning until now. You can find it here:

http://www.mycoldplay.com/timeline

The link is also at the top of the main page and I will be updating it fully and every time Coldplay.com is updated. Everthing is in date order, so makes navigation easier.

Thanks so much to Coldplay the band and everyone involved with the new site layout. You’re doing a cracking job.

Coldplay Timeline: 4th Album News 21/09/2007

An exciting new update from Coldplay.com

Friday 21 September, London

This is the album I always dreamed Coldplay would make. It’s the sound of a band realising their own strength. The sound of four men with total confidence in themselves and one another. It’s the sound of a songwriter at the peak of his ability. Lyrically, and melodically. Chris seems to have broken through past constraints.

There’s a new confidence to venture beyond the limits of the known and confortable. An urge to explore and discover. His energy is electrifying - sometimes intimidating. A manic bundle of love, passion and rage. A voracious appetite for life, eagerly devouring every minute of every day. He knows that time is short.

Jonny too, has explored a whole new universe of sounds, magicking up a new world for each song. His guitars are all over this album.

Will has manipulated, mashed and spliced beats and time signatures to produce rhythms that lead rather than follow the song.

Guy - always the tastemaker and musical authority of the band - has guided and shaped the whole process, always pushing, but unafraid to rein things in when necessary.

The four of them together make up a formidable unit, and this is the album people will remember them by.

HARDEST PART VIDEO PREMIERE REVIEW

When I first watched the new video for The Hardest Part, my initial response was “this is awful. The worst Coldplay video I’ve ever seen!”. But after a few more plays, I can see that it’s a very well made piece and really quite funny. The onus isn’t on the band at all, but on the performers, who do some pretty death-defying moves. The 84-year-old female dancer is amazing and very supple [she puts me to shame doing the splits and stuff. I can't tell you the last time I was able to do that. I think I was 5].

I love the way the band have been edited into the timewarp of an actual 80’s TV show. It’s seamless. I love the little extras - the cloak being thrown on stage, Chris taking off his sunglasses in amazement at one of the dance moves, him and Jonny having a laugh at what’s going on, the fact that you can see Jonny rockin’ on the side of the stage as the performers do their stuff. And I’m very pleased with what I call the ‘Guycoverage’. He’s rockin’ away like nobody’s business. He’s a proper little mover [more please! :D]. And Chris looks like Sonny Crockett with his finger stuck in a power socket. Will looks cool crooning behind the drums and Jonny’s t-shirt… Well, it makes a change from the norm…LOL

Overall, it’s a great video. We’ll see how it stands the test of time…

I’ve uploaded a vid and have made grabs for the gallery. You can download the vid here and here and the original ‘Attitudes’ segment can be found at here [thanks Motoi]. I personally prefer Coldplay’s musicial accompaniment.
