I just came back from see The Dark Knight - the new Batman film and boy, didn’t Heath Ledger do a sterling job as the Joker? He was crazed, twisted, and hysterically funny. If the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences doesn’t award him a posthumous Oscar, then this world ain’t right….

I was in stiches with his mental portrayal of the character. He was a thousand times better than Jack Nicholson’s take on things. He had great comic timing. The Joker’s sense of humour and just general winding up of Batman/Gotham City was the stuff of legend. The thing that made me laugh the most was when he turned up at the hospital dressed in a nurses outift and was walking away as it was totally obliterated. Absolute genius!

I did find the whole film a little bit long and overblown, but the action sequences were superb. Batman’s motorcyle was the bomb - Christian Bale had some killer moves on that thing.

The last third of the film should’ve been cut and saved for the next movie [obviously, they're gonna have another movie]. That would have left time for Two Face [aka Harvey Dent] to be developed further [I'm pretty sure he ain't dead].

Bravo Heath - Bravo! Rest in Peace. You are sorely missed…
