I had my work’s Xmas party last night, all the way in flipping Epping, which clashed with several things, namely The Arctic Monkey’s first Ally Pally gig [gutted] and also The Thirst were performing an acoustic set at the This Feeling [or it was renamed 'This Fielding' as The Boosh's Noel Fielding was meant to be DJing along with someone from Kasabian]. I found out that The Thirst were going to be on stage about about 10.15, so I went to the work do, ate and ran, hoping to go and catch their set.

I bloody hate driving at night. My eyes aren’t that great and I can’t read the road signs properly, so I took a few wrong turns and turned up late and missed the set, so I was none too chuffed. If there’s anyone who needs sat nav IT’S ME!

I thought, ‘Oh well, at least I’ll get to see Noel Fielding DJing’, which he/they were meant to be doing at about 11.45pm. The time came and went, with no sign of Noel or Serge Pizzorno [who was meant to be DJing with him]. We were told they were running late, so we hung around some more. Time just kept going by with no sign of them. Then someone said they saw Serge walking about so I went to go find him. There was a VIP section in the venue and I looked in there, but couldn’t see him, but spotted Kelly Osbourne and had a quit chat with her. She was looking a little rough to say the least, poor thing. Suddenly Serge just walks out of the VIP section. God, what is wrong with my eyeballs. How come I never spotted him! I thought he had no intention of DJing solo [Noel Fielding failed to show] so he must be leaving, so thought nothing else of it. It’s not nice because some people had travelled from quite far away to catch them DJing.

Also at the club was a party for someone or other and Noel Gallagher in that section apparently, so I went to go say hello. He was so rude to me. There was no fucking need for it. It’s us folks that go and buy his records, putting him where he is. Just because I’m not in ‘the music biz’ doesn’t mean you can’t talk to me. What a twat. And he was being proper two-faced as well because he let my mate take a picture with him, but not me. Plus, I didn’t realise the bastard was such a short arse. That’s probably why LOL!

The only plus side was Alex Turner turned up with Miles from The Rascals, who are supporting The Monkey’s on their UK dates. He was lovely and I managed to get a proper picture with him this time around. He’s maturing very nicely indeed. There’s none of that akwardness that use to be apparent early on, bless him. I’m seeing Arctic Monkeys later on tonight. I can’t wait. I’m sure it will be stellar!
