It has been reported on Jonny Buckland’s wikipedia page that he and girlfriend Chloe Evans are the proud parents of a baby girl, named Violet, born sometime in November 2007. It is also rumoured that Jonny and Chloe are now engaged.

John Key could be in copyright trouble over music used in the DVD to mark his year as National Party leader.

The party has been warned it is walking a fine line by using a newly created piece of music very similar to Coldplay’s Clocks.

The similarities are enough to have prompted the Australasian Performing Right Association, which manages copyright issues and licences for many international bands in New Zealand, to notify the copyright holder for Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The Weekend Herald asked a music lawyer and musicology analyst to compare the Coldplay song to music used in the opening segments of the Ambitious for New Zealand - Meet John Key DVD because of confusion from some readers about the song in its opening segments.

Reports that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are set to split have been angrily denied.

The married couple have not been seen together in public for several months, sparking rumours they were living separate lives.

Actress Paltrow has been filming a cooking show with celebrity chef Mario Batali in Spain, while rocker Martin is said to have been working on his band, Coldplay’s latest album.

But pals insist their four-year marriage is fine. And a spokesman for Paltrow said she and her husband deliberately avoided being snapped together.

I saw The Emeny for my final stint at this year’s MENCAP Little Noise Sessions. There was no surprise guest appearance by anyone ‘major’ tonight, but that didn’t matter, because the quality the performances spoke for themselves.

Supporting The Emeny were Noah and the Whale [whose name derives from the movie 'The Squid and the Whale']. They are just like Arcade Fire in their sound and I really enjoyed their set. Their lead singer Charlie has a lovely voice, similar to Tom Smith from Editors. They’re used to playing acoustically because they’re a folk based band and they had a violinist and their bass player also played an unusal instrument sort of like an accordion, but in piano form.

I don’t remember much about this except meeting someone from Westlife. Apparently, we played Troubled and Chris wore a denim suit.

Tim Hope [now of The Mighty Boosh] made this. He’s very talented, but we haven’t seen him since.

Our favourite bit of The Mighty Boosh is the moon singing Neil Armstrong, Walkin’ on me face’.
