Coldplay: Chris Martin talks about ‘pressure’ of new album

Martin says ‘pressure is a catalyst’

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has posted a handwritten blog on Coldplay.com about the progress the band have made on their new album.

The group are currently working on the follow-up to 2005’s ‘X&Y’.

Martin’s handwritten note explains: “The self-imposed deadline looms and new songs have arrived. Famous Old Painters + Glass of Water. It’s as if the pressure is a catalyst. The pressure to finish has triggered a new writing surge. However, the deadline still stands…”

Previously, the band recently revealed nine tracks and titles for the new songs, and Coldplay have said that the album, which the band have recorded in part in Barcelona, will be no longer than 42 minutes in duration.

I really thought Prospekt was NOT any of the band members and I believe Prospekt wrote that, so am I going crazy? Chris’s handwritting is different from Prospekt’s, is it possible..? I don’t get this..

  2. You know what NME are like for reporting stuff…. Absolutely rubbish!

But I reckon them saying it was Chris Martin and not ‘Prospekt’ gives the article more weight.

I mean, who the hell is Prospekt anyway?

the handwritten blog NME talk about is not chris’s, it’s prospekt’s blog, and prospekt’s handwriting is different from the handwriting of chris, jony, will and guy, so he can’t be one of them. some fans think he is phil harvey.

  4. Sorry, I amended my previous post so it makes more sense. I know it’s not Chris Martin.
