The Coldplay frontman, married to Paltrow since 2003, was in Brazil recently and left journalists worrying about his wife.

“Gwyneth Paltrow must suffer,” was the startling pronouncement of one writer, in a comment to msnbc.com’s The Scoop.

“Chris Martin, her husband, isn’t one of the nicest persons on Earth. At least that’s what it seemed on the 20-minute press conference.”

Example: Asked if he has considered a duet with his wife, the peevish Martin replied: “What’s your favorite sexual position?”

OK, so that’s odd.

Another prickly point included Martin’s observation that the only important thing when it comes to music these days seems to be having a song become a ringtone. He finally “stormed out” of the chat with Brazilian journalists when his wife’s name came up again, according to The Scoop report. Poor Gwyneth - married to Mr. Grumbles.

The real news here in Coldplay-land? Martin told another interviewer that they’re heading to the studio to record another album, and one song in particular is, well, pretty special: “I can’t tell you about it, but it’s basically genius.”

Great. Can’t wait for the ringtone.
