Chris Martin sees U2 at Abbey Road

Chris Martin, was at Abbey Studios with U2 for a while on 18th September and had some time to talk to fans. Here’s an encounter from ‘Chichard’.

Chris chatted to us and allowed photos etc. Then said he had to get home. So he walked across the street and commenced walking alone to wherever his house is. No bodyguards no nothing :D

SONG OF THE WEEK: IN MY PLACE

Here’s Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland performing an acoustic version of ‘In My Place’ during Make Trade Fair Live 2002. The gig featured collaborations with Miss Dynamate and also Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and all proceed of the event went to Oxfam. Thanks to Richardxx for uploading.

In My Place

In my place, in my place,
Were lines that I couldn’t change,
I was lost, oh yeah.

I was lost, I was lost,
Crossed lines I shouldn’t have crossed,
I was lost, oh yeah.

And yeah, how long must you wait for it?
Yeah, how long must you pay for it?
Yeah, how long must you wait for it?

I was scared, I was scared,
Tired and under prepared,
But I wait for it.

And if you go, if you go,
Leave me down here on my own,
Then I’ll wait for you, yeah.

Yeah, how long must you wait for it?
Yeah, how long must you pay for it?
Yeah, how long must you wait for it?
Oh for it

Sing it please, please, please,
Come back and sing to me,
To me, me.

Come on and sing it out, now, now.
Come on and sing it out
To me, me
Come back and sing.

In my place, in my place,
Were lines that I couldn’t change,
I was lost, oh yeah.
Oh yeah.

COLDPLAY TO TAKE FIVE-YEAR HIATUS?

British rockers COLDPLAY are set to take five-year hiatus from recording to concentrate on their families. Following the success of their chart-topping third album X+Y, frontman CHRIS MARTIN is desperate to spend quality time with wife GWYNETH PALTROW raising their children APPLE and MOSES. Coldplay bassist GUY BERRYMAN welcomed baby daughter NICO into the world earlier this month (SEP06), and is also keen to turn his attention to being a family man. Martin says, “It’s going to be a long, long time before you hear a new album from us. We’ve done a few things, but we’re all enjoying having families at the moment. “If it takes five years for us to feel ready to record something new, then so be it. We need plenty of time to let it come together organically.”

Fredy likes early Coldplay, not the new stuff

He [Fredy] grew up in Antigua, the youngest of four children, the little brother of three sisters. He listens to Pink Floyd. Oasis. Early Coldplay, but not the new stuff, because pretty soon those guys are going to be dancing on the stage like the Backstreet Boys, he says.

Chris Martin - lay off the privat jets dude…

Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, sings about people mistreating the planet and then boasts about how his band flies everywhere by private jet. In just 30 years’ time, this country will be “profoundly and catastrophically different”. So where are the mass demonstrations? “We are simply too comfortable, and we have too much to lose.” Monbiot sets himself the task of persuading us that climate change is worth fighting. At the very least he wants to “make people so depressed about the state of the planet that they stay in bed all day, thereby reducing their consumption of fossil fuels”.
