COLPLAY AT KOKO

Coldplay’s gig tonight at KOKO in Camden Town kicked arse a MILLION different ways. The guys were truly on form. Piccies are here and vids are here.

I’m loving the new material from your latest album X&Y [released today]. I was a bit gutted I couldn’t sing along like the rest of those who illegally downloaded the album before it’s release the die hard fans [same difference, I guess...]. I’m loving ‘Speed of Sound’ a hell of a lot and I’m looking forward to hearing the whole album and letting it permeate my being before the next gig…

But the old standards - oh they RAWKED!

The band had great energy and drove the crowd into a frenzy when they played their greatest songs, such as ‘Politik’, ‘Yellow’, ‘Everything’s Not Lost’ and ‘The Scientist’. ‘Clocks’ brought the house down. And last, but not least ‘In My Place’ as an encore [together with new song 'Fix You'] was nothing short of genius.

You guys definitely left us wanting more…

Chris - you were superb [as usual] with your wit and thoughtfulness and thanks for bring Jon and Guy into the limelight with you. And thanks for shaking my hand! You da man! Your voice transcends time and space with it’s heavenliness.

Guy - I’m sorry, I have to say this, you are one sexy ass mo’fo’ dude! Keep swinging them hips baby. I love you more than words can say. Your basslines grooved me muchly.

Jon - you make the guitar sing like no other. Haunting, melodic, frenetic. You can do it all….

Will - you were hiding some, but could be heard, nonetheless. Pounding almost tribal ostinato beats left me drunk with delight. I’m definitely under your spell…

And kudos to you guys showing off your multi-talented skills on the harmonica, piano and keyboards! Way to go!

I took tons of video clips, but you can hear my bad singing and yelling too much [also very shaky as I was getting shoved hard from behind - nearly lost my spleen], so - not sharing…

In addition to shaking the hand of Mr Gwyneth Paltrow - I scored half a set list and a bottle of water from the stage… :D

That’s the most rewarding 17 hours waiting in line, sleeping in the cold [trying to sleep, you noisy wretches!], without adequate bedding/coverage and being photographed, looking like a homeless person by NME [er, thanks...] etc etc yadda yadda yadda that I’ve ever spent in my life and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

See ya on the 28th!

P.S. I would elaborate more on events, but. I’m tired. I need to sleep…
